Ryno To Manage Perioa
It was announced yesterday that Cubs Hall Of Famer Ryne Sandberg is going to take over managing the Peoria Chiefs from former Cubs catcher Jody Davis. Jody was promoted to the Daytona Cubs. It is interesting to see that Ryno is now going to manage a team for the Cubs to gain managerial experience so that maybe just maybe down the line Ryno will be managing in Wrigley Field one day. I think this is a good thing and I also wish that the Cubs would have gotten Joe Girardi to manage the Iowa Cubs with the promotion of Mike Quade to Lou Piniella's staff. It will be interesting to see what happens as the years roll by and whether or not Ryne makes it to the show as a manager. If Ryne goes about managing the way he did about playing, then I would expect somewhere down the line that we will see Ryne Sandberg managing in the Major Leagues, I just hope that it is for the Cubs if it is available for Ryne to manage.

I don't think Sandberg would be a good manager, but we'll see. I like a manager with fire, and Sandberg is a very placid person.
